Bethlehem UMC Fellowship Outdoor Shelter, August 19, 2018

Following the evening service, we dedicated to the Lord our new picnic shelter. This was followed by an ice cream social, which was very welcome considering the heat. We are so grateful to all the people around the county who have supported our efforts to raise money for the Building Fund. In the last year, we have replaced the fellowship hall flooring, repaired the church sign, and built the picnic shelter. We couldn’t have done it without the ladies who cooked the food, the men who fried the fish, the yard sales, and the community who supported us. Thank you!

Farewell Celebration and Graduation Celebration

On Sunday afternoon, June 10th , Bethlehem and Salem UMCs hosted a graduation celebration for Melanie Nichols and also a farewell celebration as we prepare to send Pastor Keith and Melanie back to North Carolina.  We had a pot luck dinner at the Bethlehem UMC fellowship hall.  There was more than enough good food had by all and a great time of fellowship.

Congratulations Melanie Tracy Nichols!!!

A contingent of members from Bethlehem United Methodist Church were on hand Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Asbury Theological Seminary to witness the award of a Master of Divinity to Melanie Tracy Nichols.  Also attending were Pastor Keith Nichols and Pastor Matt Nichols.  Pastor Melanie Nichols has already been assigned a church in North Carolina.  Paster Melanie and  Pastor Keith Nichols will be relocating to North Carolina later this month.  Both will be missed by their current congregations.  Best wishes and God’s blessings on their continuing ministry.

Taken around 1986. Note the  Kitchen and Bath Room addition is under construction in the back.  Also note this was before the stained glass windows were installed and the paved parking lot.

Repair And Rebuild the Church Sign

Update on church sign:  We have completed the sign frame and installed the electrical lighting.  Again thanks to everyone involved in the project.

Many folks that pass the church on 1547 have noticed that we have been working on the sign supports.  We were forced to rebuild the sign support due to deterioration of the old brick.  We have completed the rebuilding of the stone sign support and hung the sign.  We have some electrical repairs to make and then we will be getting the lights working again.  Thanks to all who contributed their time and efforts to this task.
